I
blew it. Big time! In just under 4 years,
I racked up $15,000 in
unsecured debt.
I
am fortunate that my
mess is now my message. But like too many college
students, I didn't have a firm foundation when it came to money
and credit and I made a lot of mistakes that followed me well
after college and took a long time to fix.
I want to keep college students from finding out the hard way
that what they don't know about money, credit, and debt can have
devastating effects on their future; and their hopes of being
truly independent adults.
As
an author and speaker, I focus on the underserved audience of
young adults, college students and 20-somethings. This
often-overlooked segment of the population desperately needs
real, relatable, and practical information about money, credit,
and debt.
From a debt-strapped college student to a "Do-It-Herself"
debt-eliminator,
I'm passionate about helping young adults see that being saving
savvy, money-minded and financially fit is not only nice but
necessary.
Bringing the
message of financial literacy and responsibility to the college
market has many unique challenges. College students are often
considered "grow-ups" -old enough to drink and vote- yet are
unprepared to make smart financial decisions. Due to a lack of
financial literacy education at home and in our schools, many
young adults are making bad and costly money mistakes.
As America's #1 Financial Fitness Coach For
College Students I travel nationwide to colleges and
universities presenting my award winning seminars and workshops
such as, "What Every College Student Needs To Know About
Money, Credit and Debt" and
other
necessary messages designed to form a foundation for financial
literacy that they don't teach in college.
My
book, "Crack
'Da Code: What Every College Student Needs To Know
About Money, Love & The Dream Job"
is the perfect complement to any money management curriculum.
While designed to be a companion to the presentation it can
stand solidly on it's on as one-of-a-kind resource in which
readers will learn:
