Although colleges don't want you to know this, you can appeal the decision - and possibly gain admission, reports The Associated Press. Many colleges actually have a formal appeals procedure, even though they'll never tell anyone about it unless pressed to do so by a rejected student or parent who complains. Every year, thousands of students rejected from their top choice do just that and get a second chance for admission.
